According to the Sheriff’s Office, it received a call from LC-M administrators on Thursday, January 26 that a student had ‘made an outcry’ about an improper relationship with an educator.
Deputies responded and received information from school district officials. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was contacted and conducted the investigation. The case was investigated and presented to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for review.
The grand jury indicted Hyde on Wednesday on two counts of Improper Relationship Between an Educator and Student as well as two counts of Sexual Assault of a Child.
On Thursday, Orange County deputies arrested Hyde. If convicted of the 2nd Degree Felony he faces a punishment ranging from two years probation up to twenty years in prison and a $10,000 fine on each count.
Bond has been set at a total of $30,000.
As of Friday afternoon he was in the Orange County Correctional Facility.
