The Jersey Journal reports 29-year-old Elyse Cromwell, of Jersey City, was sentenced Friday in Hudson County Superior Court after pleading guilty to sexual assault and official misconduct in February. The misconduct charge carries a mandatory five-year sentence.
Assistant Prosecutor Lynne Seborowski says Cromwell “groomed” her victim for two years, gaining his trust before sending text messages saying she wanted to have sex.
Seborowski added that Cromwell supplied the victim with marijuana.
Before sentencing, Cromwell said she was “sorry for any pain or harm I caused.”
Seborowski said Cromwell did not just cross the line, she “obliterated” it.
