Lebanese police have taken into custody a school teacher suspected of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old student, security sources told The Daily Star Tuesday.
The teacher, who is in his 50s, was arrested 10 days ago in Tyre, south Lebanon, the sources said. They added that the incident, which took place at the school where the teacher was employed, ocurred a month ago.

The details of the alleged sexual assault have yet to be clarified.
The parents of the boy have not filed a complaint about the incident, but the police investigation is ongoing.
