Calgary Catholic high school teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old student will spend at least two more weeks in jail.
Jennifer Mason, 30, was expected to appear in court today for a bail review, but her lawyer wasn’t there.
Mason was charged earlier this year after a member of the public spotted suspicious activity in a vehicle parked in northwest Calgary.
Mason has been suspended from teaching.
Her initial bail conditions required that she not have any contact with the teenager, but she was charged last week with breaching that condition.
Mason has been charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation by a person in a position of trust and sexual interference.
In order to protect the identity of the victim, the details of the school were not released. However, police said parents at the school were notified by the school board.
