A Cornwall man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference relating from an incident that happened in the fall of 1989. Marcel Lalonde, 65, allegedly inappropriately touched and sexually assaulted an 11-year-old male who was known to him.
This is not the first time Lalonde, a former teacher, was arrested. In 2001 Lalonde was convicted of six counts of sexual assault against several of his students at Bishop MacDonell School from 1971 to 1983 and in 2008 he faced a charge of indecent assault on a 14-year-old male stemming from an incident in 1974.
Lalonde was charged and released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on Feb. 20.
