A former Osceola High School teacher was arrested Thursday accused of inappropriate sexual contact with at least one male high school student.
Arkansas State Police arrested Nichole J. Winberry, 28, of Paragould on four counts of first degree sexual assault. Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington announced in a statement Winberry will appear before Circuit Judge Ralph Wilson Jr. for a probable cause hearing Friday in Osceola District Court.
Ellington said the investigation began when the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline received a report that Winberry had engaged in sexual contact with at least one Osceola High School student. Winberry surrendered to state police investigators at the time of her arrest. She is in Osceola City Jail Thursday pending the probable cause hearing.
Winberry resigned from her position at Osceola Schools on January 10, 2014. She previously worked at Paragould Schools until resigning from her position there.
