More criminal charges are expected to be filed against a former Phoenix elementary school teacher. Ryan Raths already faces four counts of sexual assault for two cases dating back to 2004 and 2007.
An 80-page police report shows Glendale police spoke with about a dozen witnesses and victims. In 2007, one of the victims told police she met Raths online.
She said when the two were hanging out at his apartment, Raths sexually assaulted her. Detectives say a similar attack happened to another victim back in 2004.
Both victims initially reported the attacks to police but never went through with the charges. Recently a cold case detective reached out to victims and convinced them they had enough evidence to press charges.
Raths recently taught fourth grade at Roadrunner Elementary School. Alhambra School District says Raths was a teacher with them from 1998-2011.
According to a Glendale police report, Raths stopped working at Westwood Elementary in 2011 due to performance issues and acts of anger towards co-workers.
The report also shows Raths stopped working at Westwood Elementary in 2011 due to performance issues and acts of anger towards co-workers.
