An Albion High School music teacher was arraigned Saturday on two counts of criminal sexual conduct after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female student.
Bowen Wall, 31, turned himself in to police Friday night after a warrant was issued earlier that day.
The Albion Department of Public Safety said the student and her mother reported the sexual relationship Tuesday. The girl is not being identified because the Citizen Patriot typically does not identify victims of alleged sexual assault.
Public safety Chief Scott Kipp said the alleged sexual relationship occurred more than once and took place over the past few weeks.
The chief said the alleged sexual acts took place off schools grounds but the incident is under investigation.
Whether Wall taught the female student in his class is unknown.
Wall’s interim bond was set at $50,000 during the arraignment, and Kipp said Saturday he was unsure if Wall had posted bond yet.
