A 56-year-old driving instructor in Winnipeg has been charged with sexual assault for allegedly touching his students inappropriately.
According to police, a 29-year-old woman claimed the man touched her during lessons in June and July 2008. It happened while the man, who worked for a private driving school, was explaining various driving techniques, police said.
Then in June 2011, a 16 year-old female student made complaints about the same man, who allegedly touched her during a number of lessons.
Although reports were made to the police, charges were never pursued.
But in January 2014, after an 18-year-old woman complained to police about the same man, members of the Sex Crimes Unit investigated and charged were laid on Jan. 23, 2014.
The man was released from custody but was arrested and charged again on March 4 on further counts of sexual assault and sexual exploitation after police interviewed the first two victims.
