Greenwood man has been charged with assaulting a child under the age of 10 while the child was at her father’s Greenwood home last summer.
According to a Greenwood Police Department report, GPD officers met with Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office deputies on last Thursday about an incident initially reported to have happened outside the city limits of Greenwood. Deputies discovered the incident occurred in the city limits of Greenwood and contacted GPD.
According to the report, the victim described to her teacher in explicit detail a sexual assault which took place between June 15, 2013 and Aug. 15, 2013 while the victim was at her father’s house in Greenwood. The teacher notified a school guidance counselor who in turn notified the S.C. Department of Social Services. DSS officials contacted law enforcement. The victim lives in Gaffney with her mother.
According to the report, the victim said Tremaine Vantrell Daniels, 24, of 703 Cokesbury St., Greenwood, sexually assaulted her while she was at her father’s home. The victim said she wanted to stop, but Daniels threatened to beat her if she did. The victim said Daniels threatened to give her “the worst beating of her life” if she told anyone what happened.
Daniels was arrested Monday and charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
