A former Renfrew teacher was sentenced to three years in jail Tuesday for sexually assaulting two teenage boys.
Michael Grant Slater, 74, was a teacher at Elizabeth Park School on the former Uplands Military Base when the two assaults occurred in the 1960′s and the 1980′s.
The Crown had argued for a six to eight year prison term for the man, whom she called a remorseless man. Slater maintained his innocence even after a jury convicted him in March.
The defence was asking for a conditional sentence.
