A gathering of educators, folks and group individuals are shielding a long-lasting Solvang School educator blamed for sexually ambushing female understudies, and addressing cases made against him.

An educators union delegate conveyed 75 letters to Solvang School Board individuals Tuesday vouching for the character of the seventh grade math educator who has worked at the K-8 school for a long time.

Previous Solvang School board part Richard Christiansen talked with regards to the educator, calling him “one of the best educators that there ever was.”

“Our grandchildren used to call him at home at night to get additional guidance from him and he was exceptionally considerate, and, extremely supportive. When they’d have inconveniences, this is the place they’d turn,” Christiansen said.

Charges surfaced March 16 when a man, recognizing himself as a casualty’s sibling, told Solvang School Superintendent/Principal John Karbula that his sister had been “improperly touched” by the instructor over a year prior, as indicated by a report recorded by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.

“It was charged that the instructor had slapped and pressed the posterior of a few understudies on various events,” Kelly Hoover, a sheriff’s area of expertise representative said.

A few understudies saw the episode, the report proceeds.

One by one, a gathering of understudies recorded through Karbula’s office with comparable stories, the report states.

“The central [Karbula] said he assembled understudies to the workplace and inquired as to whether they all had issues with the instructor, and they every answered ye,” Senior Deputy Charlie Uhrig wrote in an April 7 report.

Sheriff’s authorities would not discharge the quantity of informers or give points of interest of the case refering to a progressing criminal examination.

Karbula put the educator on managerial leave toward the end of the school day.

The blamed educator has at no other time got a protest at Solvang School, Karbula said, and there is no history of protestations or control made against his showing certification, as per archives made accessible by the state Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Authorities from the sheriff office’s Criminal Investigations Division “have directed various meetings” and are closing the examination before the District Attorney’s office audits the discoveries, Hoover said.

Solvang School authorities declined to remark on the matter, saying it is a staff issue experiencing an inside examination. That examination could finish up when Saturday, 60 days from the date of the beginning grievance, unless stretched out with authorization of the informer, as indicated by school board approaches.

Karbula would not remark about whether the examination would be amplified.

In a move Karbula said has nothing to do with the continuous examination, trustees taken care of board arrangements concerning lewd behavior. Board individuals revised BP 5145.7, empowering understudies who feel they are by and large sexually bugged “by another understudy or a grown-up to quickly contact his/her educator” and that understudies ought to be guaranteed that they don’t need to face inappropriate behavior “under any circumstances.”

The updates are overhauled as the California School Board Association changes arrangements, which Solvang School subscribes to, Karbula said.

“These are totally irrelevant to inappropriate behavior,” Karbula said. “It’s an extremely routine situation that doesn’t have anything to do with whatever else.”

The modified board arrangement likewise strengthens disciplinary activities, including release of obligations for staff individuals discovered participating in inappropriate behavior towards understudies.

Before the correction, the strategy laid out control for understudies sexually pestering different understudies, yet did not address disciplinary activities for staff individuals.
