A previous Springfield teacher has confessed to having a sexual association with an understudy about three years back.

Previous Lanphier High School instructor Jennifer Tyree confessed Friday in Sangamon County Circuit Court to a crime indictment of disturbed criminal sexual ill-use. As a feature of the supplication bargain, two crime rape charges were dropped and the 38-year-old Tyree will get a seven-year jail sentence.

Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser says “given the interesting arrangement of realities for the situation,” the sentence is the right one.

Prosecutors affirmed Tyree had sexual contact with a then-17-year-old understudy in September of 2012, and professedly drove him to numerous areas including Rock Island County. Charges against Tyree are pending in Rock Island County.
