A West Monroe man is convicted in a Colorado court for sexual assault on a child.
According to the District Attorney’s office in Routt County,
Colorado, jurors on Friday found former

Brothers, who was a youth pastor in Kentucky at the time, was also found guilty of eight felony counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, bringing the total amount of counts to 16.

“We greatly appreciated the jury’s focus through the many days of trial. Their verdict brings a long-awaited measure of justice to our victim and his family who were a truly inspiring example of courage and perseverance. Our Routt County trial team, led by Chief Deputy District Attorney Matt Karzen, Deputy District Attorney Eliot Thompson, and Routt County Sheriff’s Office Detective T.J. Sisto, did an outstanding job in presenting this very challenging case,” said District Attorney Brett Barkey.
Brothers faces a mandatory prison sentence of a minimum of 10 years to life to a maximum of 256 years to life.
