Student beaten up for not taking tuition from school teacher

A class X student of agovernment school here was injured when he was allegedly beaten up by his teacher for not taking private tuition from him, police said on Monday.

Noushad, the student of Government Excellence School here, sustained injuries on his ears when his mathematics teacher R.P. Sharma allegedly thrashed him on Saturday at the tuition, they said.

The boy’s father Abdul Ahad said in his complaint that his son was attacked as he had stopped taking tuitions from Sharma and opted for other teacher as he had raised fees. Noushad was admitted in the district hospital and is recovering, police said.

Kotwali Police have booked Sharma, who is yet to be arrested, under sections 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 323(punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code and is further investigating the case.
