A teacher from Northampton County who pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a teenage girl is heading to jail.

Richard Kim was sentenced Friday morning to five to 10 years in state prison and another 10 years of probation after that.

Police said Kim was a teacher at ACE Education USA in Pen Argyl when he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old student more than a dozen times.

He pleaded guilty in May to charges of indecent assault and corruption of minors.
In exchange for the guilty plea, officials withdrew dozens of other charges.

ACE Education USA houses and educates students from Korea.

Kim’s parents own the school.
