A former Cy-Fair ISD teacher has been charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child.

Kristina Moore, 48, is accused of carrying on a year long relationship with a 14-year-old male student she met while teaching at Thornton Middle School, according to the complaint. The student has since moved on to high school.

The student told police the relationship started when he asked Moore for her number and the two began texting in February 2013.

Investigators say another teacher reported suspicious activity between the two and an investigation was launched in the spring. After the student told police he had been sexually involved with Moore, she was removed from her position at Thornton Middle School. Investigators say the alleged sexual encounters happened off campus.

The incident is the third time a CFISD teacher has been accused of having an improper relationship with a student this year.

In March, former Hopper Middle School teacher Corrie Anne Long, 43, was accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old student.

According to investigators, the student had known Long since he was in sixth grade and had her as a math teacher, court documents state. After an investigation was launched, the boy told investigators Long would take him to an empty classroom, where the sexual encounters allegedly occurred.

In May, former Cypress Lakes teacher Kelly Lynn Thompson, 26, was accused of having sex at least once with a male student inside her car outside of his Katy area home.

Investigators say the student was also contacted by Cy-Fair police and admitted to having a sexual relationship with the teacher.
