More charges have been filed against a former Osceola High School teacher who appeared in court Friday. According to Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington, Jacqueline Nicole Winberry, 28, of Paragould was charged with three counts of transportation of minors for prohibited sexual conduct Friday in Mississippi County Circuit Court.

She had originally been charged with four counts of first degree sexual assault. All charges are felonies and are punishable by six to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.

Winberry is accused of inappropriate sexual contact with at least one male high school student.

Arkansas State Police arrested Winberry on Jan. 16. A judge has ordered no contact between Winberry and the victims.

Ellington said the investigation began when the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline received a report that Winberry had engaged in sexual contact with at least one Osceola High School student. Winberry surrendered to state police investigators at the time of her arrest.

Winberry resigned from her position at Osceola Schools on January 10, 2014. She previously worked at Paragould Schools until resigning from her position there.

A judge on Friday set a pretrial date of April 1 and trial dates of April 14 to 17.
