A 31-year-old PE teacher has been accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl in the primary school building. Glyn Thompson appeared in a UK court faced five charges of sexual assault with penetration.
It was not a one time off incident, Thompson was said to have groomed the girl, who he had known “for a number of years”, while she helped with his classes for work experience.
According to reports, they started when the girl was 13, exchanging “flirtatious” messages and then at 14 it became a physical and sexual relationship.
The court heard how the offences took place on school premises from 2011-12 and the authorities only got to hear about it after receiving an anonymous letter.
Thompson who had a girlfriend did not enter a plea but the court heard he intended pleading guilty. He is to remain in custody until July 24 when he appears at Burnley Crown Court on .
