A teacher from Germantown, accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student, appeared in a Milwaukee courtroom Monday.

Eric Glass, 29, faced three counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff, however one count was dropped following testimony by the alleged victim.

Milwaukee Police said that the encounters happened at his home in the city.

The criminal complaint says Glass and the alleged female victim “were seen kissing and dancing together” during a concert at a club in Milwaukee.

Hours later, the two allegedly had sex for the first time.

He is a math teacher and freshman boys basketball coach.

“He is, by all accounts, an excellent teacher.  He is by all accounts a very well respected educator and coach,” said Jonathan LaVoy, his attorney.

The school district placed him on unpaid leave.  He’s due back in court May 18th.
