A Wayne Highlands school teacher accused of sexually assaulting a boy twice waived his preliminary hearing in Clifford District Court on Tuesday.

Kyle Justin Cobb, 27, of Union Dale, is accused of raping a boy at a residence and farm in Herrick Twp. Both incidents happened between five and seven years ago, before Mr. Cobb was a teacher.

The child was between 11 and 13 years old at the time of the alleged incidents. He is now 18 and does not live in the area.

The Times-Tribune does not identify the victims of alleged sexual assault.

Mr. Cobb waived his preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Suzanne Brainard. A formal arraignment has been scheduled for May 8 in Susquehanna County Court.

Mr. Cobb remains free on $100,000 bail.

Mr. Cobb was hired as a teacher at Lakeside Elementary, part of the Wayne Highlands School District in Honesdale in July 2010. After charges were filed in late March, Mr. Cobb was placed on an indefinite suspension without pay from the district.
