If convicted of those charges, he faces 20 years to life in prison.

In March, Ettlinger was arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of battery on a child under 14, two counts of posing a child in a state of nudity, and two counts of secretly photographing a nude or semi-nude person. He pleaded not guilty and was held on $110,000 cash bail.Suffolk County prosecutors said that on two occasions in 2009, Ettlinger undressed the victims, identified as two girls both under the age of 14 at the time, while they slept. Prosecutors said Ettlinger fondled the first victim on her genitals and fondled the second one on her buttocks, and that he filmed both incidents. In January, Ettlinger was indicted by a Middlesex grand jury on five counts of aggravated indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14, plus charges of posing a child in a state of nudity, posing a child in sexual conduct, possession of child pornography, and secretly recording a partially nude person.Computers and digital media were seized from Ettlinger’s Brighton home, and during the subsequent examination of these items, images and movies of Ettlinger sexually assaulting the underage female victim were found, prosecutors said. While Ettlinger was employed as a teacher in Newton, the victim, a resident of Middlesex County, was not one of his students.Ettlinger resigned from the Newton Public Schools in January.
